Clemency isn’t freedom. It comes with a record, forced labor, parole and risk of re-incarceration.
That organizing required a complete loss of her anonimity and her privacy. Everywhere she goes people will know that she is a survivor of sexual violence. Imagine what that does to a person.
That organizing requires the attention of thousands of people, which means it can never be done for every victim of the system. This kind of freedom as a result of large scale organizing will only ever help a few, while most victims remain incarcerated.
