Hi, let’s make 2018 the year that we all respect sex workers, recognize sex workers as our fellow workers, and just generally respect the choices and the autonomy of everyone who has to sell their labor power in order to survive under capitalism.

Actually, forget the “let’s” part. This is an order.

I support the abolition of sex work insofar as I support the abolition of all work. So long as the productive class must sell its labor power in order to survive, I support the right of all workers to do so in whatever way they are able, and would gladly die in support of their efforts to improve the conditions of said work.

Other than them people who try to act like human trafficking and survival sex work are the same as all sex work, which is just nakedly fallacious, I’ve literally never seen an argument against sex workers’ autonomy that wasn’t built off of bourgeois paternalistic moralizing.

First of all, you need to listen to people when they tell you who they are and what they need. And second of all,

bourgeois paternalistic moralizing

is liberalism and we’re supposed to be combating that.
